Celtic look set to sign Daniel Arzani on loan from Manchester City.

Pundit Davie Provan has told The Scottish Sun that he could tell Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wasn’t entirely happy with the club’s move for Daniel Arzani last week.
The Bhoys have yet to add any new faces from the end of last season, as their only deals so far have been to sign loanees Scott Bain and Odsonne Edouard permanently.
Celtic remain favourites for the Scottish Premiership title despite some feeling that they have endured a fairly disappointing summer transfer window, and one signing may yet arrive.
Last week, the Daily Mail reported that Manchester City are set to sign Melbourne City playmaker Daniel Arzani in a £280,000 deal, and Celtic are then poised to take him on loan.
Arzani, 19, has shown amazing potential with Melbourne City and even played for Australia at the World Cup in Russia this summer having burst into the squad late in the day.
The teenager – who can play out wide or as a No. 10 – would join Celtic potentially for two years, much like the deal which saw City loan Patrick Roberts to the Bhoys.
Brendan Rodgers suggested last week that Celtic are aware of Arzani, but didn’t go as far as to say that he wanted to sign him – and ex-Celtic winger Davie Provan believes that is a problem in itself.

Pundit Provan has told The Scottish Sun that he thinks Rodgers made it clear that Arzani is a club target rather than his own target, and believes that Rodgers isn’t quite happy with that situation, with Provan urging Celtic to back him with signings like Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama.
“The coach will spend every penny he can get his hands on and here’s the rub. Despite his transformation of the team, Rodgers’ net spend has been minimal,” said Provan. “With Celtic currently treated as target practice by Europe’s elite, is Rodgers supposed to accept his lot when he knows the club is flush with cash? Last week Rodgers made it clear he wasn’t involved in the pursuit of Aussie kid Daniel Arzani. This was no slip of the tongue.”
“For a guy who picks his words with tweezers, it was a deliberate admission from the Celtic coach. He was flagging up the fact he’s not in charge of recruitment. That’s not unusual these days. It’s a model that worked when John Park was identifying players for Neil Lennon and Deila. But while Park unearthed the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama, Rodgers has never had that type of quality. Bottom line is that good players cost good money. Celtic have the cash to bring some in — but do they have the will?” he added.
