Tottenham star Dane Scarlett has told Carney Chukwuemeka via his Instagram story that he is ‘proud’ of the midfielder after he scored his first Premier League goal for Chelsea against West Ham United.
The 19-year-old moved to Chelsea last summer after his contract was running down at Aston Villa, with his first campaign at Stamford Bridge ending in an abject fashion and a bottom-half finish.
But following the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, one of the bright sparks for Chelsea has been their teenage midfielder – Carney Chukwuemeka – and he showcased that against West Ham United, despite his side’s defeat.
After going 1-0 down, it was the England U21 star who levelled the scores, after he showcased quick feet inside the penalty area, before curing his effort into the back of the net.
That was Chukwuemeka’s first senior goal of his career, and it was deserved, only for his evening to end with an injury just before the break.
Chelsea would go on to lose the encounter 3-1 against the ten-man of London rivals, with Tottenham’s Dane Scarlett posting on his Instagram story ‘proud of you’ after Chukwuemeka’s first goal.

Chukwuemeka will be a future England international
Chelsea have thrown millions and millions at midfield players, yet they have one on their doorstep, who if they provide game time to and develop, then he will become one of the best.
There’s no doubt that a senior England call-up is around the corner for the ice-cool midfielder, who now faces a lot of competition for minutes.
Romeo Lavie and Moises Caicedo are just two of the big-money names that have been brought in this summer, and given how much they have cost, you would think that they will automatically start ahead of Chukwuemeka.
