Carney Chukwuemeka and Harvey Vale have praised Tottenham Hotspur loanee, Dane Scarlett, for scoring his first Portsmouth goal, as the Chelsea duo posted on Instagram.
On Saturday, Portsmouth moved to the top of the League One table thanks to Scarlett bagging the only goal at Port Vale – he is on a season-long loan at Fratton Park from Tottenham.
At 18, Scarlett has the world at his feet and he is a player that was much-admired when Jose Mourinho was in north London and someone that has also been bigged up by current boss, Antonio Conte.
But this period of his career is all about progressing, taking his game to the next level and forging a career path that will lead him to become a key member of Tottenham’s team in years to come.
Well, it’s a great start to life at Portsmouth for Scarlett and he has all the potential to do the business for Danny Cowley’s side ahead of their promotion push – and things have started very well for the team.
Scarlett expressed his delight on his IG after scoring his first Pompey goal, with Chelsea midfielder Chukwuemeka posting in the comments section ‘proud of you’ and fellow youngster Vale added ‘Just the start’.

There will be a lot of ups and downs for Scarlett, but he only has to look towards a certain Harry Kane and how he has become one of the world’s best after coming through the club’s academy.
It wasn’t so long ago when Kane was on several loans at places like Millwall, yet now he is probably going to become the Premier League’s top scorer and England’s greatest-ever goalscorer.
The only issue Scarlett has is that the expectations will be so high in north London that he will need a lot of patience during his development.
