Former Arsenal prospect Tobi Omole is on trial at Tottenham Hotspur, according to Football.London.

The 20-year-old started the Tottenham Under-23 side’s Premier League 2 game against their Arsenal counterparts at London Colney on the substitutes’ bench.

As reported by Football.London, the versatile footballer was released by Spurs’ bitter North London rivals Arsenal earlier this summer.

The youngster is a very promising and versatile player who can operate in central midfield or in defence.

Arsenal’s official website describes Omole as ‘a versatile defender who never shies away from a battle’.

One for the future

It remains to be seen how Omole fares during his trial at Tottenham, and one suspects that fans will get to know soon.

The youngster is one for the future, and is unlikely to be part of Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad anytime soon, if indeed he is offered a new contract.

It is very likely that if the 20-year-old is offered a contract by Spurs, then he will go into the Under-23 team initially.

Omole is a very talented young player who can develop into a superb footballer in the coming years.
