Tottenham target signs new Bournemouth deal
Bournemouth have signed Adam Smith to a new contract, ending speculation he could re-sign with Tottenham Hotspur.
It was claimed Spurs were eyeing a summer move for Smith as a Kyle Walker replacement – who was sold earlier this month to Manchester City.

Bournemouth have acted to tie down the 26-year-old to a new deal, announcing a new four-year contract for Smith on their official website.
Smith spoke of his delight at the extension, commenting: “I’m delighted. I’m settled in the area and get along really well with the lads.
“There is nowhere else I want to be at this moment. Everything is going well for me both on and off the pitch and I’m looking forward to that continuing.”

Going back to Spurs would have been a risk for Smith, who still would have had to compete with Kieran Trippier for a first team spot, and emerging talent Kyle Walker-Peters.
Tottenham’s interest was always a little surprising despite the progress he was making at the Cherries, and staying put is the safe, yet smart decision.
Smith provided five assists last season and continued to establish himself as a Premier League regular.
