Enrico Camelio has told Calciomercato.it that Roma have received an offer from an English team for Nicolo Zaniolo’s transfer, amid reported interest from Liverpool and Tottenham.
The Italy forward’s Stadio Olimpico future is becoming increasingly uncertain ahead of the upcoming summer sales. He has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho in recent weeks and is now appearing likely to embark on a new adventure to find continuity next season.
Juventus are paying close attention to the 22-year-old’s plight in Rome and seem ready to offer him a fresh start. Despite his more recent troubles, Zaniolo has still offered four goals and eight assists over his 34 appearances, starting 28, in all competitions so far this term.

Yet a move to England is the most likely outcome at present for the Massa-born maestro if he leaves. Roma Live noted in February that Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United had each made exploratory surveys to sound out Zaniolo’s situation at Roma for a transfer.
In the meantime, Calciomercato report Giallorossi owner Dan Friedkin has paused all talks with his agent over a new contract. Claudio Vigorelli had been in discussions with the Serie A side over renewing Zaniolo’s deal, which ends in 2024, and will speak again this summer.
Friedkin wants to see how Zaniolo responds to his recent drop off in form after the winger requested a salary exceeding €5m-a-year (£80k-a/w). Yet a move away is now highly likely.
Zaniolo ‘goes to England’ as Roma land £29m bid for Liverpool, Tottenham target
Italian journalist Camelio now expects Zaniolo to move to England in the summer transfer window with Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United interested in the Roma winger.

But the offer on the table from an unnamed Premier League outfit is worth €35m (£29m), while Roma want at least €50m (£42m). A club in Spain has also now joined the race after making their own exploratory approach. Yet Camelio believes they trail the English bidder.
“Zaniolo’s journey here in Rome is over,” Camelio said. “Today, he goes to England. Roma want to sell him, he wants to leave. The valuation is around €50m, but the offers have reached around €35m.
“Roma wants more, of course. But for Zaniolo, there was a proposal from England and a survey from Spain.”
