Leeds United target Josko Gvardiol seemed to have a pretty mixed bag of a game last night.
The Dinamo Zagreb defender played 90 minutes as his side got knocked out of Champions League qualifying by Ferencvaros.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this month that Leeds would ‘soon’ reach an £18 million agreement with the Croatian outfit to bring him to Elland Road.
But there was cause for concern last night, especially as Gvardiol gifted Ferencvaros their winning goal.
The teenage centre-back botched a clearance near the halfway line as Myrto Uzuni galloped through on goal and struck the decisive blow.
Other than that, it was a good, all-round performance by the Leeds-linked prodigy – who even has an admirer in the form of Pep Guardiola – and here’s how football fans on Twitter reacted to his performance:
Will this mistake have deterred Leeds from making a move? Probably not. Gvardiol remains a huge talent irrespective of his error last night.
Plus, whether you’re Virgil van Dijk, Sol Campbell or Nemanja Vidic, no centre-back has gone through their entire career without a defensive error, especially when they were teens.
