Tottenham goalkeeper Joe Hart has labelled Arsenal as a ‘proper club’ who are ‘well-respected’, whilst speaking on Brew City’s ‘The Social’ (in partnership with SPORTbible).

When asked about Mikel Arteta’s future at Arsenal amid pressure, the Spurs summer signing stated that Arsene Wenger has proven what can be brought to the table if someone is backed in the long-run.

Tottenham added more misery on Arsenal over the weekend when they recorded a 2-0 win against their North London rivals, which now places them in the bottom half of the table.

Hart shared his brutally honest thoughts on Arsenal as a club and also made it clear that Arteta’s future at the club is ‘for them to worry about’.

“I don’t know what their long-term plans are,” said Hart. “They are a proper club, Arsenal. Well-respected.

“They have seen what continuity can do with Arsene Wenger and what it brings. But with respect, that’s their problem to deal with.

“Like I said, I imagine they have got a plan. Mikel’s proved himself as a coach and he’s now trying to prove himself as a manager and that’s for them to worry about.”

Albeit from the bench, Hart experienced his first North London derby on Sunday, the only downside is that he didn’t get the full package in terms of being able to feel the heat and anger of such an occasion with a full stadium.

Whilst Arteta will more than likely still be on the Emirates touchline by the time the Spaniard can carve into his turkey for Christmas, the time is seemingly ticking for the now under-pressure boss.

If results and performances continue in the direction they have been heading since the start of the season then he’ll probably be spending January as a free-agent rather than plucking them out of the transfer market as Arsenal manager.
