The West Ham United manager has worked wonders during his time in charge in east London.
Hammers boss David Moyes explained how he is really enjoying his time at the London Stadium, when writing his column for the Evening Standard, labelling West Ham as a ‘proper football club’.
The east London outfit are in the midst of a resurgence in form, since Moyes’ appointment as manager back in November, and they now sit in 11th position in the Premier League table, although they are only five points clear of the drop zone.
The Scot’s appointment wasn’t exactly greeted with much fanfare from the Hammers faithful, but he deserves great credit for the manner in which he has injected confidence back into the West Ham players, and in doing so, he has got the London Stadium crowd onside.
The 54-year-old wrote his regular column for the Evening Standard, and opened up on how comfortable he feels in east London, sharing how he relates to the Hammers fans:
“I have to say I am really enjoying this job. I’m a Glaswegian and I feel I can relate to the people at West Ham. They’re similar in that there are no frills about them. They challenge you and you’re never sure what kind of comments you will get. They know what they want and they tell you. It feels that way to me, a proper football club.”
Next up for West Ham is a home game against Bournemouth in the Premier League tomorrow, and a win for Moyes’ side could see them climb as high as ninth in the table.
