Jack Wilshere has told talkSPORT that Harry Kane’s possible transfer from Tottenham to Manchester City could affect Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s chances of winning the Golden Boot for Arsenal.
The free-agent claimed that despite Arsenal’s struggles, he thinks Aubameyang, 32, could be in with a chance of being the Premier League’s top goalscorer ahead of the new campaign.
That Golden Boot award currently sits on Kane’s mantel because he didn’t just finish as top-scorer last season, but he was also the top assist-maker.
And if he switches Hotspur Way for the Etihad, then Wilshere feels a certain Kevin de Bruyne feeding Kane could become a ‘problem’ for someone like Aubameyang in the race to be the top marksman.
On Aubameyang winning the Golden Boot: “I think he can do it,” said Wilshere.
It is then suggested to Wilshere that he won’t be able to because he’s not playing in the best team
“Well, Harry Kane was the top goalscorer (last season),” he responded. “I do think he has to play more centrally if he is going to get that amount of goals.
“The only other problem he has got is if Harry Kane goes to Man City and he has got De Bruyne with him.”

Aubameyang has finished as the top-scorer before and has showcased, regardless of how indifferent Arsenal are, that he can compete with the best strikers in the country.
But that was two seasons ago because, during the past 12 months, he has been the shadow of the player that was firing Mikel Arteta to the FA Cup not so long ago.
And it’s not like he has looked like a recharged animal in pre-season because those same problems still seem to be there.
If Kane can finish top of the striker’s tree in a declining Tottenham side, many would dread to think what he is capable of producing for a Man City side that will have Jack Grealish and De Bruyne feeding you chances.
