Speaking on the Official England Podcast, John Terry has claimed that Jack Grealish has the biggest personality of any creative player in the England squad.
Terry was waxing-lyrical about the Villa star, claiming that he never shies away from wanting the ball and that his personality shines through on the pitch.
What’s been said?
Terry was talking about England, and inevitably he was asked about his former Villa teammate.
“He’s absolutely incredible. I know everyone compares him to Gascoigne, but you talk about players wanting the ball. Jack gets the hump with people in training, if he has four players around him in a game he still demands the ball in tight areas and tight situations, but we’ve all seen that big players shy away from wanting the ball in big games, but I look at him, Sterling, Foden and Mount. They’ve all got big personalities and Jack’s is probably the biggest for me.”

Spot on
Terry is spot on about Grealish.
So many footballers seem to freeze on the big occasions, but Grealish plays with absolutely no fear, no matter who he’s coming up against.
Whether it’s for England at the Euros, in a playoff final for Aston Villa or in a pre-season friendly, Grealish always wants the ball and he always wants to make things happen.
In a tournament like this where a moment of brilliance can turn the tide of any single game, you need players like Grealish.
We can only hope that Gareth Southgate sees things in the same way and starts him against Germany.
