‘Turned into prime Pirlo’: Some Spurs fans laud their player’s showing last night

Tottenham fans on Twitter lauded Harry Winks after he helped England record a 4-0 win over Iceland in the UEFA Nations League last night.

The 24-year-old went into the game under a little bit of pressure because of his performances on the club scene, but the Spurs man impressed on the Wembley stage.

Whilst he didn’t get on the score sheet, the Tottenham academy product did provide two assists on the night for this country.

In recent matches, the results, nor overall performances haven’t been good enough by the Three Lions, but they shone on Wednesday night under the arch.

Whilst Winks does receive stick for his performances from time to time, the work that he does go under-appreciated at times.

He can move the ball quickly from deep areas, keep the ball ticking and allow the more attack-minded players to get on the ball and do their stuff in the final third.

Winks was aggressive in his press last night, and he impressed the Tottenham faithful – He started in a two-man midfield with Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

Now, those Spurs fans will be hoping he can bring those performances to North London.
