Bernd Leno has predicted via Football London that Arsenal team-mate Bukayo Saka will soon blossom into a bonafide world-class talent.
Saka is pretty much nailed-on to win Arsenal’s Player of the Year award this season.
Yes, quite a few of the Gunners’ more established names have been horribly inconsistent, but take nothing away from the 19-year-old who despite his age, has been the club’s most consistent and reliable player since September pretty much.
Saka, who won his first England cap this season, has six goals and seven assists for Arsenal across all competitions.
And Leno, who cost the club £22 million in 2018, has told Football London that his colleague will eventually find himself among the world’s elite.
He said, speaking before a Europa League quarter-final with Slavia Prague: “His performances were incredible. He’s a top player and he has a top mentality, which is very unusual for someone his age. He’s almost leading the team which is a very good sign. I’m pretty sure he will become a world class player.”
The good news for Arsenal is that Saka has been passed fit to face the Czech outfit tomorrow – and Mikel Arteta badly needs him.
Arteta’s side go to Prague in the knowledge that their opponents nicked a last-minute away goal at the Emirates last week to draw 1-1, meaning the North Londoners are slight underdogs.
