Christian Eriksen has stated that he has been ‘pretty impressed’ by what Mohamed Salah has done over the years in Liverpool colours.

The Manchester United midfielder was asked to name who his toughest player has been to face from the African continent and he put forward Salah’s name.

After being at Chelsea for a brief period, Salah left England to pick up his career in Italy, before Liverpool paid AS Roma £34 million for the winger in 2017 (BBC Sport).

It has proven to be one of the best pieces of business the club has ever concluded because he could argue that if he left Anfield tomorrow, then he walks into the club’s greatest-ever XI.

That’s some going for a player that struggled in the colours of Chelsea, but now he remarkably has 122 Premier League goals to his name from 199 matches, added with 54 assists.

Eriksen would have faced Salah in the colours of Tottenham, Brentford and Manchester United, as he spoke about his rival on Premier League Productions (12/09/22 at 11:10 am)

“I would have to say Salah,” said Eriksen. “He has been in the Premier League for a few years and also previously at Chelsea.

“But to play the level he has done, over the last few years, it has been pretty impressive.”

SALAH ONE OF THE PL’S BEST AFRICAN PLAYERS

The Egypt International is certainly in the conversation, whether he is the best to have graced English football is a debate in itself.

A certain Yaya Toure, who ran havoc in the middle of the park for Manchester City, will probably be another popular pick.

Whilst Chelsea fans would also want to put Didier Drogba’s name forward given his career-changing performances at Stamford Bridge.

Either way, whilst those players are no longer competing, Salah has just signed a new deal and he could enhance his legacy even further.
