Leeds United fans on Twitter aren’t too fussed that they won’t push for Todd Cantwell and Louie Sibley’s signatures before Friday’s deadline.

The Mirror have claimed that Leeds are abandoning their chase for Norwich City’s playmaker Cantwell and Derby’s rising forward Sibley.

For both players, it seems as though the price is an issue with Leeds not willing to put the money on the table for what the Championship duo want for their players.

But given the productive summer transfer window, Leeds have had, their fans aren’t bothered that either of those players won’t be playing at Elland Road.

A selection of Whites fans have made it clear that the asking price for Cantwell’s talents is too much and they can always go back in the winter when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Added with Leeds’ fast-paced and aggressive start to the season, they have also had perhaps one of the best windows from the Premier League sides, so from their perspective there isn’t a need to panic.

Leeds United’s record transfers

  1. Rodrigo (2020)

    £26 million

  2. Raphinha

    £21 million (2020)

  3. Rio Ferdinand (2000)

    £18 million

  4. Diego Llorente (2020)

    £18 million

  5. Helder Costa (2020)

    £16 million

Given that transfer deals can turn from looking dead in the water to alive an kicking in an instance, it will be interesting to see if anything comes of this on Friday.

But the Leeds fans are happy with the work they have done this summer and, in some cases, glad they are not putting big money on the table for someone like Cantwell.
