The Preston North End boss is being tipped as a possible Brendan Rodgers successor at Celtic.

Alex Neil has distanced himself from the Celtic managerial vacancy.
Neil, who is currently overseeing Preston’s late push for the Championship play-offs, has been mooted as a possible successor to Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park.
Neil Lennon recently took on the role on an interim basis, although it is unclear at this stage whether or not the 47-year-old will be hired full-time.
But speaking to The Scottish Sun this week, Neil insisted he has had no thoughts about leaving Preston for Celtic or any other club.
“When I was at Norwich I was linked with the Rangers job and now this,” he said.
“It is rare to be linked with Celtic and Rangers because people like to think you are one or the other.
“I have no thoughts about moving club or anything like that.
“I am the Preston manager and I am enjoying my time here and we have a lot of scope to improve. Being the boss here has my full focus.

“I don’t look at the speculation in the papers or social media. I get made aware of it but sometimes I find it funny more than anything else.
“I will just crack on with my job here.”
Neil made his name as a manager at Hamilton Academical, whom he led into Scotland’s top flight in 2014 before overseeing the club’s first away win at Celtic in 76 years.
The 37-year-old later achieved another promotion, this time at Norwich, but was sacked towards the end of the club’s first season back in the Championship.
