Celtic winger Scott Sinclair has been linked with a shock move to Preston.

Celtic winger Scott Sinclair is facing an uncertain future at Parkhead – and he’s now been linked with a surprise move back to England.
The 30-year-old had starred under Brendan Rodgers, smashing 43 goals in his first two seasons with Celtic, and whilst many thought he struggled last term, he still ended up with 17 goals to his name.
With 60 goals in 153 outings for Celtic, Sinclair has been in the goals at Parkhead, but he appears to be slipping down the pecking order under new boss Neil Lennon having failed to start in Champions League qualifiers.
His contract has been extended to next summer, but if money is on the table, Celtic may sell – and the winger wouldn’t have expected Preston North End to be one of his suitors.
The Herald now claim that Preston are weighing up a £2.5million bid for Sinclair, whilst the Lancashire Evening Post report that North End only want him on loan – something Celtic have rejected – as £2.5million plus considerable wages is beyond the Championship club.
North End do have some money in the bank after selling winger Callum Robinson to Sheffield United, and Sinclair would be his replacement, but whether owner Trevor Hemmings would finance a club-record deal remains to be seen.

Celtic certainly won’t loan Sinclair out given that he can just leave for free at the end of such a move, and Preston fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumour.
Some believe that there’s simply no chance of a deal given how Preston are frugal in the transfer market, but there’s a general feeling that Sinclair would be a huge coup for Alex Neil’s side, and a risk worth taking in terms of the finances involved.
