Championship side Preston raked in a reported £8million from West Ham.
West Ham United completed the signing of target man Jordan Hugill from Championship side Preston North End on deadline day for a reported £8million – and Preston fans are delighted after raking in the seven-figure fee.
The Daily Mail claimed on deadline day that the Hammers had splashed out £8million to sign the 25-year-old target man, who has found the back of the net 10 times this season already.
The Hammers endured a frustrating January transfer window that has been highlighted by the club’s huge injury list, with a whole host of attacking stars currently sidelined including Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic.
However, they did manage to lure Inter Milan attacker Joao Mario to the London Stadium on loan while Hugill replaces the £18million loss of Andre Ayew who has returned to former side Swansea City where brother Jordan plays.
Instead of being disheartened at losing their star striker, Preston are instead delighted to rake in such a transfer fee after already luring striker Louis Moult to Deepdale from Motherwell, after he scored 14 in 22 for the Well this season.
One fan described the fee as “good money”.
