The Australian talent made his first start for his country this week.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given plenty of young players a chance at Anfield this season. One player to benefit from this is Australian left-back Brad Smith.
He has featured seven times for Liverpool this season, scoring once against Exeter City in the FA Cup.
His swashbuckling style and wand of a left-foot has rightly earned him plenty of praise this season and he is also a regular in the Australia set-up now – recently getting his first start against Tajikistan.
He has certainly impressed a fellow Soccerroo and English-based talent.
Preston North End defender Bailey Wright has nine caps for Australia and is having a great season in the Championship with The Lilywhites.
He spoke to SBS this week and had this to say about the Liverpool talent:
“You look at Brad Smith – he’s done really well in the cup competitions for Liverpool this season and he’s definitely get something about him.
“He’s a good player and good lad. We actually made our debuts together (in London) against Saudi Arabia (in 2014) and he’s got a lot of pace about him and a good cross too.”
Liverpool certainly had high hopes for Smith. In October 2014 Liverpool recalled Smith from a loan spell at Swindon Town with the hope of getting him to sign a long-term deal at the club.
However, he became a free agent after his contract with Liverpool came to an end last summer after failing to come to an agreement over a new deal.
But he signed a new deal with Liverpool in November and it looks like things are on the up for the talented Aussie.
