According to the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are set to take their summer outlay to over £150million with raids for Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon.

Spurs have already landed Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke, but will now allegedly land two more signings in deals much cheaper than first expected.

It’s believed that a deal for 16-goal playmaker Lo Celso will come in at around £54million to £60million, after Real Betis initially demanded Spurs pay his £88million release clause.

Similarly, The Guardian claimed earlier this summer that Fulham wanted £45million for Sessegnon. Instead, Spurs will pay £20million, potentially throwing Josh Onomah and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou into the deal.

Those are two cut-price moves for Spurs, bolstering Mauricio Pochettino’s options whilst getting great value, with Daniel Levy’s tactics seemingly working with these two players.

Now though, the pressure may be on to sell. Kieran Trippier has gone, which brought in around £20million (Telegraph), but with the transfer window entering its final stages, Tottenham may need to sell a few more bodies to make up for their huge spending.

Danny Rose’s expected exit would help, but there has been little interest in Serge Aurier or Victor Wanyama. The markets have even been slowing down for Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen, two players Spurs may have expected to sell for considerable money this summer.

There is time for Spurs to offload players and bring in funds, but big spending, time running out and a lack of major interest in linked-away players means the pressure will be on if Lo Celso and Sessegnon do indeed sign.
