Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is now on a run of nine games without a goal for the Ibrox side.

The pressure looks to be building on Alfredo Morelos now, with the Rangers forward currently enduring a run of nine games without a goal for the Ibrox side.

Morelos has received praise for his performances during that run, but his latest display – during the 2-0 home defeat to Hamilton – would have left him hugely disappointed as he missed a number of chances and the Gers went on to be punished.

And while Rangers do not play again until tomorrow, one result in midweek may have perhaps seen the pressure on Morelos ramp up just that little bit more.

Amongst the transfer mistakes that Pedro Caixinha made during his one summer as Rangers boss were the decisions to sell Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn. Though neither shone last season, their form with Ipswich Town has certainly been impressive.

And they provided another performance that arguably highlighted the mistake in letting them go on Wednesday as they both got on the scoresheet as the Tractor Boys drew 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday.

The fact that Garner and Waghorn were not prolific last season may mean that some Rangers supporters are not exactly criticising Caixinha for the decision to sell, but others would certainly be forgiven for scratching their heads.

The pair have scored 14 goals between them in the Championship this term, with Waghorn taking his tally to nine with the goal against the Owls in midweek.

And when Rangers fans look at those statistics, they would undoubtedly be forgiven for getting more frustrated as Morelos’ drought continues – even if their frustration is not directed at the Colombian as such.
