Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has said that reported Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Eduardo Camavinga will not leave this summer, as quoted in Goal.com.

According to Sport, Tottenham and Liverpool are among the clubs interested in signing Camavinga from Rennes in the summer transfer window.

The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Real Madrid want to secure the services of the 17-year-old midfielder, who is valued at €50 million (£44.62 million).

However, Rennes president Holveck has said that Camavinga will stay at the club beyond the summer.

Goal.com quotes Holveck as saying: “For Eduardo Camavinga, the project is to continue to progress at Stade Rennais.

“The next season should be that of the consecration in Rennes for him. Very sincerely, yes, the project next season will be with Eduardo.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Camavinga made 24 starts and one substitute appearance in Ligue 1 for Rennes this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.

The young midfielder also played 151 minutes in the Europa League for the French club this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Meanwhile, Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn has expressed his pride at scoring against Manchester City in February.

The 22-year-old Netherlands international moved to Spurs from PSV in the January transfer window, and he believes that his goal helped quieten his detractors.

Bergwijn told De Telegraaf: “I’ve seen that goal again and again. It still gives me goosebumps. For me, that transfer was just the right step at that moment. We were in a dip with PSV, stood at a great distance and the trainer (Mark van Bommel) was fired.

“With that goal against City, I immediately gagged some mouths. It’s a pity that I got injured pretty fast after that, but in the end, I only missed one game.”
