Celtic winger Liel Abada ‘will be sold to the Premier League’ during the upcoming summer transfer window, his former Maccabi Petah Tikva president Avi Luzon tells One.
If Abada does go, you can bet your bottom dollar that Celtic will have a high-quality replacement lined up.
The Hoops are well-versed when it comes to cashing in on key players and bringing in successors of equal or even greater quality. And Abada, a bargain £3.5 million signing during Ange Postecoglou’s first few weeks at the helm, will earn Celtic a substantial profit following two largely excellent seasons in Glasgow.

Adaba has 12 goals and seven assists this term, despite finding himself in-and-out of Postecoglou’s XI.
Will Liel Abada really leave Celtic for a Premier League club
“I believe he will be sold in the summer to the Premier League,” says Luzon, who also worked with another Israel international in Manor Solomon at Maccabi Petah Tikva.
“There were talks already in the last window, but he didn’t want to be sold.”
Abada’s current deal at Parkhead expires in the summer of 2026. Luzon, meanwhile, believes that the quicksilver 21-year-old has rejected the opportunity to sign fresh terms at his current employers.
“(Celtic) offered him a contract extension,” Luzon adds. “And I know he didn’t agree, because he wants to be sold. I don’t know the names of teams, but there are offers and I believe at a probability level of over 90 per cent that he will move to the Premier League in the summer.
“I hope that he will continue to score goals until the end of the season. And then, he will be sold for sure.”
Crystal Palace were linked with the jet-heeled right-winger around 12 months ago. Southampton, meanwhile, have made a habit of targeting Celtic’s most exciting young talent over the years; from Virgil van Dijk to Victor Wanyama. Daizen Maeda is the latest to reportedly register on their radar.
