In an interview with La Provence (via France Football), Marseille’s President Pablo Longoria shared his views on Boubacar Kamara’s future.

The 21-year-old is an in-demand player, with le10sport revealing that Liverpool and Everton were interested in signing him back in June.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have also been linked with the Marseille-born prodigy, with the Gunners’ interest covered by Foot Mercato.

When speaking to La Provence, Longoria appeared open to selling the 5-cap France Under-21 international.

Amid a difficult time for Marseille financially, the President said: ‘If players are attractive, you must be ready to replace them. But I see the sale of players as a way to restore the balance sheet and an opportunity to improve the club in the future.’

This should certainly catch the interest of Liverpool and Arsenal, as Kamara is a fine prospect who looks to have a bright future in the game.

Italian news outlet Calciomercato described him as the new Thiago Silva back in February.

That is high praise indeed, given the Brazilian’s hugely successful career.

Seeing as Arsenal have so many centre-backs that they haven’t even been able to hand £27 million William Saliba any opportunities, this news should be more of interest to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has been forced to play Fabinho at centre-back this term alongside the inexperienced Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips.

The likes of Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk have all suffered injury problems, while Dejan Lovren was sold to Zenit St Petersburg in the summer.
