It’s a who’s who of top Premier League players, with two of the top three PFA players present.
Below we present total goals scored, how many free kick goals scored, how many saves from their free kicks were made, and how many free kick shots were attempted.

Three players managed to score 3 or more times directly from a free kick, with one player coming top of the pile with an outstanding 4 goals from just 7 attempts. Manchester City’s Yaya Toure proved he was the very best around this season with free kicks, scoring more than half of his attempts.
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez round off the top three, with the Englishman ahead with a better conversion rate. In fact, no player had more attempts from a free kick position than Luis Suarez, with a huge 28 shots on goal. If you applied Toure’s conversion rate to Suarez’s number of attempts the Ivorian would have scored a crazy 16 free kicks.
There were five other players that also managed to net two goals from direct free kicks, but the two below were chosen because they scored their efforts from a smaller number of free kick attempts. Both had strong conversion rates, with United’s Juan Mata edging ahead of Everton’s Leighton Baines.
