Swansea City also have a pair of players in the top five, along with a Leicester City star.

The Premier League is now five games old and whilst things are still in their early days, as clear from the fact Chelsea are currently hovering above the relegation zone, plenty of other places in the league are starting to look like the norm.

So what can we tell from the statistics after just five games?

In the attacking department it is already clear who has been in top form this season.

Here are the top five most potent attackers in the Premier League already this season.

Callum Wilson comes out on top. The Bournemouth striker has hit the back of the net four times from just 10 attempts on goal, including a fantastic overhead kick against West Ham earlier in the campaign.

However a mention has to go to Steven Naismith. The Everton man has netted three goals from just four chances – all three of those goals coming against Chelsea last weekend. He also has the best minutes per goal ratio so perhaps the Everton man is the most potent attacker in the Premier League so far.

Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew are both flying the flag for Swansea City whilst Riyad Mahrez’s presence will not be unexpected after his excellent campaign so far for Leicester City.

An honourable mention must also go to West Ham’s Dimitri Payet, who has scored three goals from just eight attempts.

But the lack of presence from any player from the Premier League’s traditional top four is certainly a surprise.
