Paul Scholes has claimed on his Instagram story that Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has been ‘the Premier League’s best signing’.
The former Manchester United midfielder posted a picture on his story of James Rodriguez and Ancelotti about to shake hands.
He added in the caption: ‘The Premier League’s best signing, the one on the right!’- He then added in an arrow which was pointing towards Ancelotti rather than Rodriguez.
Whilst many would have thought that Scholes was perhaps making reference to either of Everton’s new summer recruits, especially Rodriguez given that he was in the picture, it’s quite clear that he is a big fan of Ancelotti instead.
All three Everton signings impressed on their debuts for the club, as they helped the Toffees record a 1-0 win over Tottenham on Sunday.
Compared to many months ago, Everton’s midfield now has a different colour to it, more bite, more creativity, more energy and now potentially one that could push them towards Europe.

One thing is for sure, they have a manager in Ancelotti who has been there and done it before, so if they are to reach it then he is the man to do it.
Not only is Ancelotti’s experience on the touchline helping, but his ability to lure the likes of Rodriguez and Allan to Goodison has also been mightly impressive.
It’s now a case of producing what they performed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a more regular basis, and if they do, then those on the blue half of Merseyside can begin to dream.
