As the Premier League Team of the Season has finally been made official, Bukayo Saka has been excluded in place of Mohamed Salah.

It seems as if the £34 million (Sky Sports) man’s impressive return to form has led him to cement his spot in the side ahead of the Arsenal right-winger.

Considering the Premier League Team of the Season tends to cause a lot of stir online, the inclusion of Mohamed Salah over Bukayo Saka is likely to become one of the biggest talking points online.

Salah beats Saka to Premier League Team of the Season spot

Despite not having his best campaign as per his own lofty standards, Salah has managed to register 18 goals and seven assists.

Statistically, Saka, branded as an ‘elite talent’ by the Daily Mail has one less goal contribution than the Liverpool legend, with 24 in total (13 goals and 11 assists).

However, the former has undoubtedly outperformed the former this campaign, which is likely to enrage the Emirates faithful.

Keeping that aside, the Premier League Team of the Season has been officially named with Bukayo Saka losing out on what seemed like a guaranteed spot on the right flank to Mohamed Salah.

The other names apart from the Egyptian superstar in the XI include Aaron Ramsdale, Kieran Trippier, William Saliba, Ruben Dias, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Casemiro, Martin Odegaard, Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Marcus Rashford.

HITC View: Criminal how Saka did not make the cut

The fact that Mohamed Salah edged out Bukayo Saka for a berth in the Premier League Team of the Season proves that statistics can be deceptive.

For a majority of this campaign, the Reds wideman has simply not been at his brilliant best, looking nearly as out of sorts as the rest of his teammates.

While Manchester City look favourites to retain their title, the way Saka led his side for 93% of the season to dominating the race for domestic glory is enough for him to be a shoe-in as part of this side.

However, it seems Arsenal’s decline coupled with Salah’s superior numbers meant the Englishman failed to make the grade.
