Tottenham Hotspur have signed a ‘wonderful winger’ in Manor Solomon with Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross a big fan of a player who scored against his club in the Premier League last season.
If the Israel international’s pre-season performances are anything to go by, Tottenham fans will have a lot of fun watching Manor Solomon swivel his hips under Ange Postecoglou in 2022/23.
As the Fulham faithful will tell you, this is the sort of player you pay the entrance fee for. If we hailed from Brazil rather than Israel, we would probably have used the phrase ‘jogo bonito’ by now.

And Gross knows first-hand just how devastating Solomon can be.
The former Fulham loanee showcased the searing pace and composed finishing that made him such a hit at Craven Cottage and at Shakhtar Donetsk as Marco Silva’s side claimed a dramatic late win over Gross’ Brighton back in February; Solomon breezing clear before slotting home in the 88th minute.
Tottenham sign Manor Solomon after Fulham loan spell
That was one of five goals Solomon scored in Fulham colours.
And while greater numbers will be expected of the one-time Man City and Atletico Madrid target in his new North London home, Gross feels that laser-guided finish at The Amex may be a sign of things to come.
”I think he fit in well in the league,” Gross tells Sports Walla.
“The goal he scored against us was painful for us, but I think he is a good player and he scored beautiful goals when cuting in from the wing, I think he is a wonderful winger.
“It will be interesting to see him at Tottenham.”
While the cheapest and arguably the least-heralded of Spurs’ three summer signings so far – James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario also arriving from Leicester City and Empoli – Solomon could prove to be an inspired addition, especially if the ageing Heung-Min Son cannot put something of an annus horibilis behind him.

“In addition to Tottenham, Aston Villa, West Ham, and RB Leipzig wanted him,” Solomon’s agent, Shlomi Ben Ezra, tells Sport5, explaining that the Bundesliga giants had identified Solomon ‘as a replacement’ for the Chelsea-bound Christopher Nkunku.
“If you leave the Premier League, you can’t always return to it.”
