West Ham United, Everton, West Bromwich Albion, Southampton and Swansea City are all vying to win.
Before you get the chance to vote in HITC Sport’s poll looking at the best team performance in the Premier League this weekend, here is a look at the five nominees…
Swansea City
Swansea City manager Paul Clement celebrates
The Swans picked up their first win under Paul Clement, and what a win it was. Practically no-one gave them a chance of going to Anfield and bagging a victory, but that is exactly what they did. Two goals from Fernando Llorente and a winner from Gylfi Sigurdsson saw them claim a famous 3-2 win against Liverpool that moved them out of the bottom three.
West Ham United
Middlesbrough’s two league games in 2017 had seen Aitor Karanka’s men keep clean sheets on both occasions, so for West Ham to continue their resurgence with three goals on their way to a 3-1 victory deserves plenty of credit. Six goals and two wins in their last two games suggests that they perhaps do not need Dimitri Payet after all.
West Brom
West Bromwich Albion’s Chris Brunt celebrates scoring
After being picked apart by Tottenham last weekend, West Brom would have been forgiven for experiencing a hangover during their home game with Sunderland. However, Tony Pulis’ men avoided any complacency against the relegation candidates and came away with a 2-0 win that keeps them eighth.
Everton
Ronald Koeman’s men have now won their last three Premier League games. Their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace means that the Toffees have scored eight and still conceded none during that time. The fact that the winning goal came so late tells you something about the current spirit of the Everton side.
Southampton
Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse celebrates
Southampton’s game with Leicester pitted two sides against each other who appeared to be woefully out of form. The Saints had lost their last four league games, while the Foxes have won one of their last seven. However, Claude Puel’s men pulled themselves out of their rut with a brilliant 3-0 win at St Mary’s where the champions looked second best for practically the entire contest.
Those are the contenders, so now is your chance to vote. The results will be announced on Tuesday.
