Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam believes that the Paris Saint-Germain striker would prefer Chelsea to West Ham United.
Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam claimed on The Monday Night Club show on BBC Radio 5 live on Monday evening (broadcast from 7pm, March 21) that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would prefer Chelsea to West Ham United.
The Sweden international striker is on the books of Paris Saint-Germain at the moment, but he will become a free agent at the end of the season when his current contract runs out.
“Ibrahimovic is out of contract at PSG,” said Adam on The Monday Night Club show on BBC Radio 5 live on Monday evening (broadcast from 7pm, March 21). “Is he going to go to Chelsea or is he going to go to West Ham because they are in the Champions League?
“He is going to go to Chelsea because he knows he has got a chance to win the league with Chelsea.”
Chelsea are having a torrid season and will not be in the Champions League next season, but London rivals West Ham could be.
The Hammers are in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League this campaign.
While the Champions League would be attractive, if Ibrahimovic has a choice between Chelsea and West Ham, then he is likely to choose the former.
Chelsea are a much bigger club than West Ham, and as Adam says, the 34-year-old could win the Premier League title with them next season.
The former Ajax star has won league titles in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France.
Moreover, Ibrahimovic has played in the Champions League regularly in his career.
In fact, the striker could actually win the prestigious European competition with PSG this season.
