Wolves have signed former Norwich City youngster Benny Ashley-Seal after the striker was linked with moves to Leicester City and Chelsea.
Benny Ashley-Seal is hardly the most high profile signing Wolves have made since Chinese conglomerate Fosun International arrived in 2016 with super-agent Jorge Mendes (above) in tow.
Over time, however, the teenage striker could prove to be another intelligent addition to a Wolves side that have emerged as bonafide favourites to earn promotion from the Championship to the Premier League this season.
The Express and Star report that 18-year-old free-agent Ashley-Seal has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Molinuex after leaving Norwich City and will be included immediately in the club’s Under-23 squad.
Though the natural-born goalscorer is far from a household name, it seems only a matter of time before he is making an impression at senior level.
One for the future
And Wolves look to have pulled off a coup bringing the youngster to The Midlands. After all, a number of Premier League sides had expressed an interest in Ashley-Seal over the summer.
The striker, who shot to fame when scoring all six goals in a 6-1 thrashing of Tottenham during his time in Norwich’s Under-16s, had scouts numerous top flight clubs mopping their brow last season. Ashley-Seal was linked with a move to Leicester City and also had a trial at Chelsea before committing his immediate future to Wolves.
And Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will be hoping that they soon understand exactly why Ashley-Seal was on the radar of some of England’s biggest clubs.
The talented youngster will have to complete for a place in Wolves’ already impressive under-23 side for the time being, however.
