Rangers star Nathan Patterson has returned to training after having to isolate due to Covid 19 protocols, with the defender in line to feature in Scotland‘s clash with Moldova tomorrow night.
Patterson missed last weekend’s Old Firm clash after he was flagged as a close contact of someone who tested positive for Covid, forcing the Light Blues to field Leon Balogun at right-back.
The teen has won huge acclaim for his performances for the Light Blues since breaking into the side and won his first cap ahead of Euro 2020 earlier this summer – and was linked with a move to Everton before the transfer window closed earlier this week.
Scotland had to play Liverpool star Andy Robertson at right-back against Denmark in midweek and the return of Patterson would be a big boost for the Tartan Army.
After losing to the Danes, Scotland’s World Cup hopes already hang by a thread and the return of Patterson should be a big positive.
As well as the Ibrox star, midfielder John McGinn, striker Kevin Nisbet and Stephen O’Donnell have also returned to training today ahead of tomorrow night’s game.

With O’Donnell also returning, Patterson will face competition for a start but the Rangers teen should get the nod ahead of his senior colleague.
Patterson is likely to be Scotland’s first-choice right-back for years to come and allowing him to add to his international experience can only benefit him in the long-term.
