Tottenham Hotspur signed Vincent Janssen in the summer of 2016.

When speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, former Premier League striker Dion Dublin discussed Spurs striker Vincent Janssen’s struggles to adapt to the English game, highlighting the fact that he has not yet been given a consistent run of games in which to prove himself.
The Dutchman has endured a woeful debut campaign in the Premier League with Tottenham, scoring just five goals in 34 appearances in all competitions, with four of those coming from the penalty spot.
And Dublin, who scored 111 Premier League goals for three separate clubs, shared his sympathy for the 22-year-old hitman, explaining why it is unfair to judge him yet, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Star:
“Confidence is key. Some of these players find it difficult to hit that purple patch. That patch where whatever your hit goes in, Harry Kane had it, Romelu Lukaku’s in it. Don’t try and change what you do naturally as a goalscorer. He’s a centre forward. I believe that when you’re a centre forward, you need game, after game, after game in order to be given a proper opportunity to score goals. I’m not sure that Vincent Janssen’s had 10 to 15 games in a row in the Premier League to judge him on.”
Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen misses chance to score
The former AZ Alkmaar man has looked so far off the pace of what is required to succeed in England’s top flight, when he has been given the opportunity to play this term.
With Harry Kane in front of him in the pecking order, it is highly unlikely that he will see his game-time increase dramatically over the next few seasons.
And quite how much more time Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to give Janssen is surely diminishing by the week.
