Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly both preparing a summer move for Celtic’s in-form striker, Moussa Dembele.

Manchester United look set to challenge rivals Chelsea for the signature of Celtic star Moussa Dembele this summer, according to a report in The Independent.

The former Fulham striker has been on fire since joining Brendan Rodgers’ side in Glasgow, scoring 32 goals in just 45 appearances for Celtic this season.

The report suggests that Chelsea are understood to have been considering a bid at the end of the January window for the Celtic striker and, although manager Antonio Conte denied they had made an offer at that point, they could well return in the summer.

The report goes on to suggest that Celtic would be looking for around £30 million for the French forward, making him potentially one of the biggest exports ever from the Scottish Premiership. After spending near that amount on Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi last summer, the Blues are likely to be cautious over splashing the cash on a striker that might not be an immediate choice over Diego Costa.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic gathering attention from the MLS, according to The Guardian, Manchester United may well be in need of a new goalscorer in the summer, and may turn to Dembele to replace the superstar Swede.

However, Glasgow giants Celtic aren’t likely to give up Dembele without a fight, as Brendan Rodgers seeks to keep hold of the Frenchman, as he looks for him to lead the front-line for Celtic in next season’s Champions League campaign.
