Premier League clubs believe that Arsenal may be ‘posturing’ over their stance that they won’t sell players in the January transfer window.
Arsenal sit top of the Premier League once again and are looking to go one better than last season.
The Gunners missed out on top spot last season but look well-placed this season with Manchester City stumbling.
Fans may believe that a couple of signings could take Arsenal to glory with the January transfer window on the horizon.
A midfielder and a clinical striker would really help Arsenal but big summer spending means some players need to go.
The window opens very soon but some Premier League clubs believe that the Gunners are playing mind games over outgoings…
Premier League clubs doubt Arsenal January transfer window stance
The Daily Mail report that Arsenal are receiving interest in their players, such as striker Eddie Nketiah.
Arsenal are allegedly telling interested clubs that they aren’t willing to let anybody leave the club in January.
However, Premier League clubs don’t believe that Arsenal’s stance is as firm as they are making out.
Those clubs feel that Arsenal are ‘posturing’, acting like they won’t sell in order to drive up prices and get the deals they want.
For example, 90min claim that Arsenal now want £50million for striker Nketiah, which sounds like a price tag nobody would realistically pay.
Nketiah has scored five Premier League goals this season but there are still questions over his ability as a truly top striker.

That may well be what these Premier League clubs mean; a huge asking price to make it seem like Arsenal have no interest in dealing, attempting to lure a team into a deal.
We can imagine that the same would go for Emile Smith Rowe and maybe even Thomas Partey amid his ongoing injury woes.
Whilst Arsenal won’t flat-out say that they are available, they may hope to drive their price tags higher by acting like they won’t sell at all.
Premier League clubs already seem to be doubting Edu’s stance though, meaning they may not be lulled in by the mind games.
Arsenal seemingly won’t add to their squad without sales and that means a real battle for leverage in the transfer market as the January window nears.
This kind of brinkmanship is just part and parcel of the transfer window and Arsenal will hope to head into February as real winners.
