Leicester City have offered Dennis Gyamfi a new contract in order to stop him leaving for Arsenal or Rangers this summer, as confirm via the Premier League’s 2020 retained lists.

Steven Gerrard has already got one over on Brendan Rodgers this summer.

Calvin Bassey left Leicester fans and coaches alike disappointed when he accepted the chance to become Borna Barisic’s back up north of the border.

And, according to the Daily Record earlier this month, there is a chance that another Foxes full-back could follow in his footsteps.

Rangers are battling Arsenal, Manchester United and Dutch giants Feyenoord for the signature of 18-year-old Gyamfi.

But Leicester are doing their level best to ensure that another teen talent does not walk away from the King Power for next to nothing.

Gyamfi is set to become a free agent next week but he has been offered the chance to sign fresh terms with the 2016 top-flight champions.

With James Justin and the frankly brilliant Ricardo Pereira both ahead of him in the pecking order at Leicester, however, Gyamfi might be tempted to join Bassey at Ibrox.

After all, James Tavernier is the only real option available to Steven Gerrard on the right-hand side – and it is not a given that the Gers captain will stay in Glasgow either with Brighton linked via 90Min.
