Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Tosin Adarabioyo are hanging by a thread as he continues to prefer a move to Monaco.

Tosin Adarabioyo is still resisting Tottenham Hotspur’s advances as he instead chases a move to Monaco.

That is according to Foot Mercato, who claim that Adarabioyo gets ‘a little closer’ to joining Monaco each day.

The Ligue 1 side are targeting Adarabioyo to replace Axel Disasi, who has now completed a move to Chelsea.

It’s stated that Fulham have been telling intermediary agents to send Adarabioyo to Tottenham Hotspur, who are keen to land the defender.

Football London claimed just a few days ago that Tottenham would be launching a bid to sign Adarabioyo.

It may well be that Tottenham are willing to offer more than Monaco, which is why Fulham are so keen on that move.

Despite Tottenham’s insistence on a deal though, Adarabioyo remains convinced by Monaco and may leave Fulham in a tricky position.

Tottenham still need another centre back amid Tosin Adarabioyo stance

Tottenham signed a new centre back this weekend with Blackburn Rovers teenager Ashley Phillips completing a move to North London.

Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven is now on the verge of joining Spurs too, giving Ange Postecoglou a left-footed centre back.

That may sound like enough for Tottenham but Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon could be moving on.

Landing a homegrown defender would be ideal and Adarabioyo seems to fit the bill perfectly.

Adarabioyo is a huge presence at 6ft 5in tall and he is now into the final year of his contract, meaning he won’t break the bank for Tottenham.

Convincing Adarabioyo to snub a starting role at Monaco for a squad role at Tottenham won’t be easy, so if he says no then Tottenham still have to find somebody else to go for to bolster their defensive options.
