Tom Cairney thought Leeds United were a ‘one-man’ team with Crysencio Summerville during their 3-1 win over Swansea City.

The Fulham midfielder stated that Crysencio Summerville was a ‘joy to watch’ and Leeds United’s ‘biggest threat by a mile’ on Wednesday night at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke’s side continued to push towards the automatic places by seeing off the struggling Swans, with Leeds United duo Joel Piroe and Dan James scoring against their former clubs.

Even though the Welsh side opened the scoring inside a minute, Leeds were level minutes later when Crysencio Summerville fed Joel Piroe through on goal.

Fulham captain Tom Cairney, who was Man of the Match during his side’s 3-2 win against Wolves on Monday night, was urging the Whites to give their Dutch star ‘the ball as much as possible’, as he told Soccer Special on Sky Sports (29/11/23 at 8:30 pm).

By the time Leeds could go in for their break, Georginio Rutter put his side ahead, before Dan James added the cushion just after the hour mark.

But it was Crysencio Summerville who caught the eye of Tom Cairney last night.

Crysencio Summerville shines for Leeds

On Leeds’ biggest threat: “Summerville. I wouldn’t even call it Leeds,” said Cairney. “It’s looking like a one-man team going forward and I am not joking.

“He has been a joy to watch. He has been the biggest threat on the pitch by a mile. Anything good they are doing (comes through Summerville).

“Everything good that is happening is going through him, so they need to get him on the ball as much as possible.”

Keeping hold of Crysencio Summerville

In the summer, there was talk of the 22-year-old possibly heading for the exit door, but he stayed put.

The Elland Road faithful will be glad that he did because of how important he is to the team.

In 15 Championship games this season, he has seven goals and six assists – that’s going to put him in the spotlight again in January.

If that door knocks during the winter transfer window, then the powers that be at Leeds need to keep Summerville on board because he could be the difference in them chasing down those automatic spots.

Farke’s men are third in the table after 18 games – seven points behind second-placed Ipswich and eight behind leaders, Leicester City.

If anyone can hunt them down, then it’s this free-scoring Leeds side that has now found its mojo.
