Fulham wanted to sign Luka Milivojevic from Crystal Palace back in May 2022 as the Serbian entered the final 12 months of his contract.
The Crystal Palace captain was a target for Marco Silva – who worked with him at Olympiacos – as Fulham looked to strengthen their side after winning promotion back to the Premier League.
That was according to The Athletic. Ultimately, a move failed to materialise in 2022 – now, however, the Cottagers could get Milivojevic for free.
What’s the story?
Well – according to a fresh story from The Athletic – it is likely that Milivojevic leaves Crystal Palace when his contract expires in June.
The Crystal Palace No.4 is one of the highest earners at Selhurst Park on £80,000-a-week.
That salary no longer matches Milivojevic’s importance to the south Londoners – he has made just five Premier League starts this season.
The Athletic do not mention whether or not Fulham retain an interest in the 32-year-old.
It is merely stated that Milivojevic is likely to leave when his contract expires in June as Crystal Palace focus on freshening up their squad.
Fulham should make Milivojevic an offer
While the Serbia international is far from the player he used to be, he could find some joy working under Silva once again – on a free transfer, there is also little financial risk for Fulham.
Milivojevic made 31 appearances under Silva in Greece, scoring three goals while also providing one assist as his performances attracted admiring glances from the Premier League.

In our view, offering him a one-year contract represents little danger for Fulham, and is certainly worth doing.
If Silva can get him back to the levels he was performing at a few years ago, the west Londoners would have a fine midfield option on their hands.
Be sure to keep an eye on Milivojevic’s situation, as the Crystal Palace captain could soon be leaving Selhurst Park.
