A number of Premier League and Championship clubs are weighing up a move for free agent Mickael Ciani.

Ciani is looking for a new club after leaving Lorient at the end of last season and the player is understood to be keen on a move to England.

The central defender has played in all the top leagues across Europe having had spells in Spain, Italy, France and Portugal and he is hoping to continue his career in England.

The former France international boasts a wealth of experience having made over 380 first-team appearances in his career to date.

Ciani made 30 appearances for Lorient last season and scored three goals, but he opted to leave the club following their relegation from Ligue 1.

The 33-year-old is a confirmed admirer of English football and the powerful defender has all the attributes to be a success in England.

News of Ciani’s availability on a free transfer has alerted a number of clubs in England and elsewhere in Europe and the player is now weighing up his options as where to move this summer.
