Newcastle United are set to take on Fulham, Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bristol City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Derby County in their first six matches.

With Newcastle United’s fixtures coming out earlier today, we predict how Rafael Benitez’s side will get on in their first six games.
Fulham (away) – Draw
A trip to Craven Cottage should be a tough test for Newcastle, in their first fixture back in the Championship.
Fulham have a lot of attacking talent, and they could cause Newcastle some problems.
Huddersfield Town (home) – Win
Newcastle should win comfortably against Huddersfield, in front of what will be an expectant St. James’ Park crowd.
Reading (home) – Win

This should be another win for Benitez’s side, as Reading don’t appear to have enough quality to trouble the Magpies.
Bristol City (away) – Win
Bristol City were in fabulous form towards the back end of last campaign, and they look a team transformed under Lee Johnson. No team will enjoy going to Ashton Gate next term, but Newcastle should get past them.
Brighton (home) – Win

This appears to be Newcastle’s toughest home fixture in the opening month, but they should still have enough to overcome Chris Hughton’s side.
Derby (away) – Lose
Derby are one of the strongest teams in the Championship, and this fixture could be a wake up call for Newcastle about the task that will lie ahead for them.
Points: 13 from 18
If Newcastle were able to pick up four wins from their opening six Championship matches, it would get them off to a good start as they aim to bounce straight back from relegation.
