Glasgow Rangers will be hoping that they can recover from an uninspiring start to the new season, with the Ibrox side currently fifth in the Scottish Premiership.

After a somewhat uninspiring start to the new season, Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha will know that his side will need to hit the ground running during the coming weeks to close the gap on the pace-setters at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

With that in mind, here is what HITC Sport is predicting for each result from their next five top flight games…

Rangers 2-0 Dundee

Rangers should return to action with a comfortable win against Dundee, who have collected just one point from their opening four games. Dundee have not won at Ibrox since 2001.

Partick 1-2 Rangers

Partick’s start to the season has been worse than Dundee’s, with four defeats coming from their four fixtures. Rangers’ last three trips to Firhill have ended 2-1 to the Gers, so perhaps another close victory is on the cards.

Rangers 1-1 Celtic

Rangers are yet to beat Celtic in the league since their return to the top flight, but they have put up a couple of brave fights. The fact that Celtic face Anderlecht in the Champions League days after the first Old Firm meeting may present the Gers with an opportunity to pick up a positive result.

Hamilton 0-1 Rangers

Hamilton have started the season brightly, but Rangers have the previous two meetings 6-0 and 4-0 so could well have enough to edge what may well be a tight game.

St Johnstone 1-1 Rangers

Like Hamilton, St Johnstone have begun the campaign very well indeed. Tommy Wright’s men are third, only below Celtic on goal difference. If any of the five fixtures are likely to see a surprise result, it is surely this one. But with St Johnstone’s top scorer, Michael O’Halloran, on loan from the Gers, the Saints may not be quite as threatening going forward.
