Nottingham Forest v Swansea City, March 30

Nottingham Forest return from the international break with a home game against an inconsistent Swansea City who are looking to finish their first season back in the Championship with an improvement.

Forest still harbour hopes of finishing in the playoffs as they sit just three points off the top six, and they will see this game as a real opportunity to keep up the chase on those just above them.

Swansea come into the game having lost five of their last seven league games, while their last five away games which have come against top 10 opposition have all ended in defeat.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Swansea City

Rotherham United v Nottingham Forest, April 06

Forest follow up their game against the Swans with back-to-back away games, the first coming against struggling Rotherham United who find themselves in the bottom three and one point from safety.

The Millers are a tough nut to crack at home having lost just five games there all season, with three of those coming against the Championship’s top four.

Forest under new boss Martin O’Neill have yet to win on the road, although defensively they are improving having kept three clean sheets in their last six games. This one could be another tight one with few chances.

Prediction: Rotherham United 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Sheffield Wednesday v Nottingham Forest, April 09

The Reds then travel to one of the Championship’s in-form team in Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls are unbeaten in 11 games, and a strong run of form has taken them to within two points of the playoffs.

Forest put an end to seven straight defeats against the Owls as they won the reverse fixture 2-1, but their recent record at Hillsborough is poor and the form of both teams doesn’t bode well for the Midlands side.

This could be the game which all-but ends Forest’s playoff hopes, while keeping the Owls in the hunt.

Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Nottingham Forest
