Tottenham Hotspur could move within a point of the top four with a victory away to Leicester City this evening.

This will be Spurs’ first outing in a week after their North London derby with Arsenal was postponed at the weekend.

And Italian manager Antonio Conte could potentially name four changes to his starting lineup from the outfit that lost to Chelsea in the League Cup last week.

Firstly, Pierluigi Gollini, who made an error in the defeat by the Blues, will drop to the bench in favour of France international Hugo Lloris.

In front of him, Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies will continue as two of the Lilywhites’ three central defenders, but Joe Rodon could replace Japhet Tanganga.

First league appearance under Conte

The Wales international, a £15 million signing in 2020, has never played a Premier League game under Conte since his arrival in November, but tonight could be the night.

On the left-hand side, Ryan Sessegnon could and probably will come in for Matt Doherty, while Emerson continues on the opposite flank.

Harry Winks and Giovani lo Celso will likely be in midfield again, but Oliver Skipp might just bench Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with Lucas Moura and Harry Kane continuing as the focal points of Tottenham’s attack.

Victory over Brendan Rodgers’s outfit will see the Londoners move one point behind fourth-placed West Ham but, crucially, Conte’s side would also have three more games in hand.

Finishing in the Champions League places is very much in their own hands, but tonight represents a big test of their credentials and this is the team that the former Chelsea and Inter Milan trainer may go with.

Possible XI: Lloris – Rodon, Sanchez, Davies – Sessegnon, Skipp, Winks, Emerson – Lo Celso – Lucas, Kane.
