Predicted Arsenal XI: £25m player returns, 6’2 star stays in

What an abysmal week for Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta’s side have lost both of their games during Project Restart and other key players have suffered lengthy injuries.

Granit Xhaka, Pablo Mari, Bernd Leno and Gabriel Martinelli are set for extended periods on the sidelines due to injuries and it gives the Arsenal boss a bit of a headache tonight.

The Gunners go to Southampton later on today hoping to avoid a third-successive Premier League defeat – and it’s obvious that Arteta needs to make changes.

Kieran Tierney, rested for the defeat by Brighton last Saturday, could and should return to replace Sead Kolasinac at left-back.

Beside him, Rob Holding deserves to keep his place at centre-back alongside Shkodran Mustafi.

The former Bolton defender, who joined Arsenal in 2016, hadn’t made a Premier League appearance since January before the defeat by the Seagulls, but Holding, who stands at 6’2, did enough to keep his place in Arteta’s first XI.
