Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Nottingham Forest to Molineux for what promises to be a keenly competitive Championship clash.

Wolves boss Paul Lambert will yet again be without injured first choice stopper Carl Ikeme, meaning that Andy Lonergan should continue to deputise behind a back four consisting of the weekend’s goal-scoring captain Danny Batth, the rejuvenated Kortney Hause and full backs Conor Coady and Matt Doherty.

The likelihood is that Lambert could name an unchanged side to face Mark Warburton’s Forest – but may well give consideration to rotation regarding Ivan Cavaleiro, Andreas Weimann and Ben Marshall; with the likes of Nouha Dicko, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and George Saville waiting in the wings.

The three points secured during Wanderers’ 3-1 victory over Cardiff City last time out was enough to see Wolves rise eight points clear of the relegation zone quagmire – something that had threatened to ruin their season of inconsistencies at the start of 2017.

However, the result against the Bluebirds means that Lambert’s side have now won their previous four league games. A victory against Forest would provide Wolves with their fifth successive Championship win – a feat that has not been achieved since 2008.

Meanwhile, opponents Forest will leave it late before deciding on the level of involvement from forward Ross McCormack, who missed the 1-1 weekend draw with Preston North End with illness.

The result against the Lilywhites leaves Warburton’s Forest just two points above the drop zone and in desperate need of a run of results ahead of a potentially crucial encounter with fellow relegation candidates Blackburn Rovers later in the month.
