West Ham United can put their Premier League woes to one side this week when they take on Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup.

The Hammers are struggling to replicate last season’s form and back-to-back 4-2 defeats have left them in the relegation zone with just three points from a possible 15.

That is simply not good enough and it will be interesting to see how West Ham manager Slaven Bilic approaches his team selection for this one.

With must-win league games on the horizon it would be no surprise to see Bilic make wholesale changes, giving some of his fringe players a chance to impress.

Among those expected to start later this week are summer signings Sofiane Feghouli, Jonathan Calleri and Ashley Fletcher, along with superb youngster Reece Oxford.
