New signing Jay Rodriguez is expected to start alongside Salomón Rondón, and the trio of Jonny Evans, Nacer Chadli and Chris Brunt are expected to be involved after missing the last pre-season game against Deportivo de La Coruña due to minor injuries.
James Morrison and Gareth McAuley both missed the pre-season, and although they are expected to be back in training this week, the game on Saturday may come too soon for them. That could mean Ahmed Hegazy starts beside captain Jonny Evans at the back.
