Mauricio Pochettino rested a number of his Tottenham Hotspur stars on Tuesday night against Brighton, and is expected to welcome the likes of Dele Alli back as Spurs face Manchester United in the semi-final of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Argentine manager’s decision to drop a number of his first-team stars saw the north Londoners labour to a 1-1 draw against Chris Hughton’s side, with Kane’s goal cancelled out by Pascal Gross’ penalty.

Alli was joined by Davinson Sanchez in being completely omitted from the 18-man squad, while Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele, Erik Lamela and Kieran Trippier all dropped to the bench.

Now, Pochettino is likely to bring his mainstays back to the fore as the north Londoners finally look to dispel critics when it comes to winning a trophy by progressing to the final at Manchester United’s expense.

Potential headaches for the former Southampton manager will be who to partner Christian Eriksen and Alli in attacking midfield, with Lamela and Son Heung-Min both in good form.

The return of Toby Alderweireld on Tuesday is also something to consider, but given Jan Vertonghen and Sanchez’s partnership this season, the former Atletico Madrid star will surely miss out.

Doubts remain over the future of the Belgium international, as he has only one year remaining on a contract the Daily Star claim is worth £75,000 a week.

Here is how we think Spurs will line-up against United, making six changes in total as Trippier, Sanchez, Dier, Dembele, Lamela and Alli come in for Serge Aurier, Alderweireld, Moussa Sissoko, Victor Wanyama, Lucas Moura and Son.
